Election of President, Vice-President and Constitution of Managing Committee

(1) There shall be a managing committee for every Distributory Committee consisting of all the members of the General Body: Provided that all Presidents of the Mandal Praja Parishads within the distributory area nominated by the District Collector shall be the members of the Managing Committee of the Distributory Committee without voting rights, in the manner prescribed. (2) The District Collector shall cause arrangements for the election of the President and Vice-President from among the members of the Managing Committee of the Distributory Committee, in the manner prescribed: Provided that for the reasons to be recorded in writing, the Government may postpone the elections from time to time. (3) If, at an election held under sub-section (2), the President or the Vice-President are not elected, fresh elections shall be held in the prescribed manner. (4) The term of office of the President, the Vice-President and the members of the Managing Committee of the Distributory Committee shall, if not recalled or removed or disqualified under the provisions of the Act earlier, be coterminus with the term of the general body specified in sub-section (3) of section 5. (5) The Managing Committee shall exercise the powers and perform the functions of the distributory committee.
