Statutory text
- (1) All suits and proceedings of which the amount or value of the subject-matter exceeds rupee two thousand but does not exceed rupees twenty thousand and pending in the Madras City Civil Court, immediately before the date of the commencement of this Act, shall be heard and disposed of by the Madras City Civil Court, as if this Act had not been passed.
- (2) All suits and proceedings of which the amount or value of the subject-matter exceeds five hundred rupees but does not exceed five thousand rupees and pending in any court of the District Munsif, immediately before the date of the commencement of this Act, shall be heard and disposed of by such court of the District Munsif as if this Act had not been passed.
