Repeal and saving

(1) The Letters Patent providing for Sheriff Appointment (Tamil Nadu Amendment) Ordinance, 1982 (Tamil Nadu Ordinance 15 of 1982) is hereby repealed. (2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken under the Letters Patent providing for the appointment of Sheriff at Fort St. George or Madraspatnam bearing date the Twenty-sixth Day of December, One Thousand Eight Hundred, as amended by the said Ordinance shall be deemed to have been done or taken under the said Letters Patent as amended by this Act.
