Statutory text

(1) This Act may be called the Chennai Metropolitan Area Groundwater (Regulation) Act, 1987.
(2) It extends to the whole of the City of Chennai and the revenue villages in the Kancheepuram and Tiruvallur districts specified in the Schedule.
(3) Sections 14 and 15 shall come into force on such date as the Government may, by notification, appoint and the rest of this Act shall come into force at once.
