This Act amends the Tamil Nadu Legislature (Prevention of Disqualification) Act by adding numerous public offices, advisory committees, state enterprise directorships, and government boards to the list of positions exempt from office-of-profit disqualifications. It applies to members of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly who hold offices in state bodies, such as the State Wakf Board, minimum wages advisory panels, and state-owned development corporations. By explicitly granting immunity from legislative disqualification to leaders and members serving on these specified committees and public sector entities, the law allows individuals to contribute their expertise to state governance, advisory bodies, and public enterprises without risking their elected legislative seats.
