University not to be entitled to financial assistance

The University shall be self-financing and shall neither make a demand nor shall be entitled to any grant-in-aid or any other financial assistance from the State Government or any other body or corporation owned or controlled by the State Government. In the Principal Act, in section 7 - (i) in clause (b), for the words, "at different places in India and abroad", the words "anywhere in the State of Sikkim" shall be substituted; (ii) in clause (c), after distance education programme, the words "approved by UGC/erstwhile DEC", shall be inserted.
