Power to make rules

(1) The Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, make rules for carrying out the provisions of this Act. (2) Without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing power, such rules may provide for all or any of the following matters, namely:- (a) matter to be prescribed under clause (d) of Section 49; and (b) other matters which are required to be, or may be, prescribed by rules under this Act. (3) All the rules made under this Act shall be laid, as soon as may be after it is made, before Legislative Assembly of the State, while it is in session, and if, before the expiry of the session in which they are so laid the House agrees that the rule should not be made, the rule shall from the date of publication of a notification, have effect only in such modified form or be of no effect, as the case may be; so, however that, any such modification or annulment shall be without prejudice to the validity of anything previously done or omitted to be done thereunder. (4) The courses of study to be laid down for all degrees, pre-University certificate and other academic distinctions of the University. (5) The award of degree, diploma, pre-University certificate and other academic distinctions.
