Definitions

In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires, -

1. (a) “Appointing Authority” means the Chairman;
2. (b) “Appointed day” means the date of commencement of this Act;
3. (c) "Auditor" means auditor appointed by the Board;
4. (d) "Board" means the Sikkim Model School Board established under this Act;
5. (e) "Chairman" means the Chairman of the Board of Governors for the Model School;
6. (f) "Chairperson" means Chairperson of the Executive Committee;
7. (g) "Executive Committee" means the Executive Committee constituted for the school;
8. (h) "Fund" means the fund established for the Model School;
   • (i) "Government" means the State Government of Sikkim;
9. (j) "Member" means a member of the Board;
10. (k) "Model Schools Rules (MSR)" means the set of rules framed by the Board for overall administrative and financial management of the model school;
11. (l) "Prescribed" means prescribed by the rules, regulations or statutes made under the Act;
12. (m) "Rules" means rules made under section 17;
13. (n) "Regulations" means regulation made under this Act;
14. (o) "School" means Model Schools in Sikkim.
