Members of the Board.

(1) The Board shall consist of a Chairman who shall be the Minister-in-Charge of the Local Self Government and Housing Department of the State Government and the following other members, that is to say, (i) Secretary, Finance Department. (ii) Secretary, Local, Self Government & Housing Department. (iii) Secretary, Panchayat & Rural Works Department. (iv) Development Commissioner. (v) Chief Engineer, Sikkim Public Works Department. (vi) Secretary, Sikkim Housing and Development Board. (2) Whenever for any reason there is a temporary vacancy in the Office of the Chairman or if the Chairman is, due to infirmity or otherwise, unable to carry out his duties, the State Government may appoint a person to act as Chairman for such period as may be necessary and while so acting the person so appointed shall be deemed to be the Chairman for all purposes of the Act. (3) Every member, other than the Chairman, shall receive such allowances, if any, as may be prescribed.
