Short title, extent and duration

(1) This Act may be called the Sikkim Cultivators Protection (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1975. (2) It extends to the whole of Sikkim. (3) It shall come into force at once and shall remain in force for a period of two years from the date of its commencement; but the State Government may, by notification in the Sikkim Government Gazette extend the period of its duration for a further period not exceeding one year.
