Definitions

In this Act, unless the subject or context otherwise requires,- (a) "Academic Council" means the Academic Council of the University as constituted under section 24; (b) "Advisory Council" means the University Advisory Council constituted under section 20; (bb) “affiliated college” means an educational institution admitted to the privileges of the University; (bbb) "autonomous college" means an educational institution declared as such under the provisions of this Act; (c) “Board” means the Board of Management of the University constituted under section 22; (d) “Comptroller” means the Finance officer of the University appointed under section 15; (dd) "constituent college" means a college maintained by the University; (e) “Faculty” means a Faculty of the University; (f) “Finance Committee” means the Finance Committee of the University constituted under section 28; (g) “prescribed” means prescribed by the Status; Ordinances or Regulations; (gg) "Principal" means the Chief Executive Officer of a college or any person duly appointed to act as such; and (h) “Pro-Vice-Chancellor” means the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University appointed under section 13; (i) “Registrar” means the Registrar of the University appointed under section 14; (j) “Status”, “Ordinances” and “Regulations” means the University made under sections 43, 45 and 47 respectively; (k) “student of the University” means a person enrolled in the University for taking a course of study for a degree, diploma or other academic distinction duly instituted; (l) “teacher” means a person appointed or recognized by the University for the purpose of imparting instruction or conducting and guiding research and includes a person who may be declared by the Statutes to be a teacher; (m) "University" means the Govind Guru Tribal University, Banswara incorporated under section 3; (n) “University Department” means a Department maintained by the University.
