Bare Act
The Punjab Laws (Extension No.3) Act, 1957
General195712 sections
This Act extends specific laws and administrative rules from Punjab and related states to territories known as "transferred areas." These areas were part of the State of Patiala and East Punjab States Union before November 1956 and now fall under new administrative control. The legislation ensures rules clarifying legal terms are applied correctly, addresses potential conflicts with existing local laws, and preserves ongoing legal proceedings to guarantee that rights and obligations established before the transfer continue seamlessly in these newly annexed regions.
