Bare Act

The Punjab Court of Wards (Validation of Exercise of Powers) Act, 1957

Civil19572 sections

This Act validates certain acts and proceedings that were conducted by officers or others acting under authority regarding Court of Wards estates in Punjab between October 1949 and when this Act took effect. These individuals acted based on their belief or purported belief that they were carrying out orders under Section 4(3) of an earlier act, even though no specific orders were actually issued. The legislation declares such actions and proceedings legally valid and prevents anyone from filing lawsuits or other legal proceedings against individuals involved on the grounds that these actions weren't properly authorized under the law. This retroactive validation protects officials and ensures administrative continuity for properties under court supervision during that transitional period between 1949 and 1957.
