Statutes
The Odisha State Open University Act, 2014Subject to the provisions of this Act, the Statutes may provide for all or any of the following matters, namely — (a) the powers, duties and function that may be exercised and performed by the Vice-Chancellor; (b) the emoluments and other conditions of service of the Vice-Chancellor; (c) the manner of appointment and emoluments of Directors, Registrar, Comptroller of Finance, Controller of Examination and other Officers and the powers, duties and functions that may be exercised and performed by each of the Officers; (d) the procedure for constitution of different authorities of the University; (e) the term of office of the members of such authorities and the powers and functions that may be exercised and performed by such authorities; (f) the manner of appointment of teachers and other employees of the University, their qualifications; (g) the code of conduct and other conditions of service including the manner of termination of service and other disciplinary action; (h) the acceptance and management of trusts, bequests, donations and endowments; (i) conferment of honorary degrees; (j) holding of convocations to confer degrees; (k) institution and maintenance, by the University, of departments, centres of research or specialised studies and post-graduate centres; (l) registration of graduates and maintenance of list of registered graduates; (m) procedure at meeting of authorities of the University and for the transaction of their business; and (n) all other matters which, by or under this Act are to be or may be prescribed by the Statutes.
