The Rules for Administration of Justice and Police in Nagaland (Amendment) Act, 1974
This Act amends the Rules for Administration of Justice and Police in Nagaland to update the state's legal framework. It changes the title of the 1937 rules to remove references to "Naga Hills" and replace them with "Nagaland" to reflect current administrative boundaries. The legislation also replaces the old Code of Criminal Procedure from 1898 with the modern 1973 Code and modifies specific police and administrative rules, including those concerning the Mokokchung district. While repealing previous notifications, it ensures that any legal cases already in progress continue to be handled under the old laws until they are resolved.
