Bare Act
The Nagaland Town & Country Planning (Amendment) Act, 2000
This Act amends Nagaland's town and country planning laws to clarify which government bodies oversee land development across the state. Applying to all of Nagaland, the amendment updates the definition of Authority to mean the Development Authority of Nagaland, as well as any other planning bodies officially designated by the state government. This matters because it establishes clear legal responsibility for managing urban development and zoning laws. By clearly defining who holds this decision-making power, the law helps prevent administrative overlaps, ensuring that public infrastructure and planning projects are executed efficiently to support organized, sustainable growth for all local communities.
