Furtherto amend theNagaland MunicipalAct, 2001. BEit enactedbytheNagalandLegislativeAssemblyinthefe-eighth year of the

RepublicofIndia as follows:

Shorttitle, extent and commencement

1. (I) ThisActmaybecalledtheNagalandMunicipal(SecondAmendment)Act, 2007.

1. (2) ItshallextendtowholeofNagaland.
2. (3) Itshallbe deemedtohave comeinto forcewitheffectfiomthe 3O'August, 2006.

In section 9 of the Nagaland Municipal Act, 2001, for the existing sub-section (3), the following sub-section may be substituted, namely:- "(3) Member of Lok Sabha from Nagaland, member of Rajya Sabha from Nagaland and members of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly in accordance with article 243R (2) (a) (ii) and (iii) of the Constitution of India; and"

In section 21 of the Nagaland Municipal Act, 2001, for the existing sub-section (3), the following sub-section may be substituted, namely:- "(3) Member of Lok Sabha from Nagaland, member of Rajya Sabha from Nagaland and members of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly in accordance with article 243R(2)(a) (ii) and (iii) of the Constitution of India; and"
