Term of office of the Lokayukta or Upa-Lokayukta

(1) Every person appointed as the Lokayukta or Upa-Lokayukta shall hold office for a term of five years from the date on which he enters upon his office or until he attains the age of 70 years, whichever is earlier: (a) Provided the Lokayukta or Upa-Lokayukta may, by writing under his hand addressed to the Governor, resign his office. (b) The Lokayukta or Upa-Lokayukta may be removed from office in the manner provided in Section 6. (2) On ceasing to hold office, the Lokayukta or Upa-Lokayukta shall be ineligible for further appointment as the Lokayukta or Upa-Lokayukta or for any employment under the State Government or for any employment under any local authority, University, Statutory Bodies or Corporation, Society, Co-operative Society, Government Company, other Body or Corporation.
