This Act amends the Assam Co-operative Societies Act, 1949 as it applies in Nagaland by adding a new chapter on insured co-operative banks. It lets the Reserve Bank of India and the deposit insurance corporation require action, such as supersession or winding up, in eligible co-operative banks, so that their deposits can be insured.
