Power to exempt

Power to exempt : The Government may, if considers necessary so to do in the public interest, by notification in the Official Gazette, setting out the grounds therein, exempt either permanently or for a specified period, such items other than those specified in section 7 from the levy of assessment, subject to such restrictions and conditions as the Government may consider necessary to impose.
