General19794 sections
This Act abolishes the annual annuity payment and extinguishes all related rights for the Gauripur (Gholla) Estate located in the West Garo Hills District. It applies to the estate's proprietors, zamindars, and their heirs, successors, executors, and assignees. The government terminates the financial arrangement established in 1878 where it paid a fixed yearly sum in exchange for surrendering land rights. As compensation for this abolition, the State Government pays a one-time lump sum of Rs. 1,43,288 to settle these obligations permanently, ending the estate's claim to the annuity.
