Definitions. - In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires -

(a) “Chairperson” means the Chairperson of the Manipur State Minorities Commission; ®) "Commission" means the Manipur State Minorities Commission constituted under section 3 ofthis Act; (©) "Member" means the Member ofthe Commission; @ “minority” means a community notified as such by the State Government under section, 2(c) of the National Commission for Minorities Act, 1992 as well as the Community/Communities notified by the State Government based upon the circumstances/conditions prevailing in the State; (©) "prescribed" means prescribed by rules made under this Act; @® “State Government" means the State Government of Manipur.
