6. Making preparation to commit theft of supply-line
Whoever is found near any electric supply-line after making preparation to commit theft of the electric supply-line, shall be punishable with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to two years or with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees or with both.
8. Offence under the Act shall be cognizable
Notwithstanding anything contained in the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, an offence under this Act shall be cognizable.

10. Act to override other laws
The provisions of this Act shall have effect notwithstanding anything inconsistent therewith contained in any other law for the time being in force.
11. Protection of action taken in good faith
No suit or other legal proceeding shall lie against the Government, and no suit, prosecution or other legal proceeding shall lie against any person, for anything in good faith done or intended to be done in pursuance of this Act.
