1. Short title and commencement

(1) This Act may be called the Female Infanticide Prevention (Amendment) Act, 1897; and (2) It shall come into force at once.
2. Amendment of section 7, Act VIII of 1870
Statutory text
In section 7 of the Female Infanticide Prevention Act, 1870, for the words "two years" the words "one year" shall be substituted.
3. Amendment of section 8, Act VIII of 1870
Statutory text
In section 8 of the same Act, for the words "two years" the words "one year" shall be substituted.
