Procedure for submission of claims
The Maharashtra State Services (Medical Attendance) Rules 1961(1) Claims for medical expenses shall be made in the prescribed form. (2) Vouchers for medicines and other costs must be attached to the claim application. (3) The head of the department shall scrutinize the claims before granting approval for reimbursement as per the guidelines laid down by the Government. (1) The Government servant shall submit the medical bill in the prescribed form along with the medical attendance certificate and vouchers for the cost of medicines purchased, to the controlling officer for countersignature. (2) The controlling officer after scrutiny of the bill and after satisfying himself that the claim is in accordance with the rules, shall countersign and forward the same to the Treasury Officer for payment. (3) The Treasury Officer shall verify the claim as per rules and arrange for payment. (4) The Government servant shall maintain the record of the bills submitted. (5) The controlling officer shall ensure that the bill is submitted within the prescribed period.
