Detention order against any slumlord, bootlegger, drug offender or dangerous person to be made under this Act and not under National Security Act

No order of detention under the National Security Act, 1980 shall be made by the State Government or any of its officer under that Act,—

1. (a) on and after the commencement of this Act, in respect of any slumlord, bootlegger or drug-offender; and
2. (b) on and after the commencement of the Maharashtra Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Slumlords, Bootleggers and Drug-offenders (Amendment) Act, 1996, in respect of any dangerous person, on the ground of preventing him from acting in any manner prejudicial to the maintenance of public order, where an order of detention may be or can be made against such person under this Act.
