Application for licence in case of existing working escalators or moving walks.

1. (1) Notwithstanding anything contained in sections 4 and 7, every owner of a place in which an escalator or moving walk has been installed before the date of the commencement of this Act, shall, within six months from such commencement date apply for a licence for the working of such escalator or moving walk to the Electrical Inspector (Lifts). The aforesaid period of six months may by order and for reasons to be recorded be further extended by six months on an application being made.
2. (2) The provisions of sub-sections(2), (3),
3. (4) and
4. (5) of section 7 shall, mutatis mutandis, apply to such an application under sub-section(1).
