Reward to informants.

If a person notices an unauthorised use of canal water for which punishment has been provided in this Act and the rules made thereunder and if he informs a Canal Officer in writing of such use and if this information leads to the detection of the offence and of the person responsible for the offence, the Appropriate Authority may grant him such reward as it may deem fit.
