Bare Act
The Madhya Pradesh Mantri (Vetan tatha Bhatta) Sansothan Adhiniyam 2017
This legislation regulates the post-retirement salaries, allowances, housing, and administrative privileges provided to former Chief Ministers of Madhya Pradesh. It applies specifically to former Chief Ministers who represented electoral constituencies within the reorganized state of Madhya Pradesh. The Act matters because it legally entitles ex-Chief Ministers to lifelong, state-funded benefits comparable to active state Ministers. These entitlements include an honorarium matching a Minister's salary, sumptuary and daily allowances, rent-free lifetime furnished official residences, free utility services and stays at government rest houses, and official state facilities, so long as the former leader does not currently hold a central or state ministerial office.
