The Madhya Pradesh Administration of Evacuee Property (Validation) Act, 1958

General19583 sections

The Madhya Pradesh Administration of Evacuee Property (Validation) Act, 1958 is a curative law enacted to protect past administrative decisions regarding evacuee properties across Madhya Pradesh. Following Partition, the state government appointed Assistant Custodians of Evacuee Property to manage and distribute lands and buildings left behind by evacuees. Legal challenges later emerged questioning whether the state government had the statutory authority under central and state evacuee property laws to make those appointments. To prevent widespread property disputes and the invalidation of past administrative decisions, this Act legally validates all prior appointments of Assistant Custodians and prevents courts from overturning their past orders solely due to appointment defects.
