The Tirur Municipal Council (Extension of Term of Office of Councillor) Act, 1979

THE TIRUR MUNICIPAL COUNCIL (EXTENSION OF TERM OF OFFICE OF COUNCILLOR) ACT, 1979 (Act 12 of 1979)

(l) This Act may be called the Tirur Municipal Council (Extension of Term of Office of Councillors) Act, 1979. (2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 30th day of November, 1978.

Notwithstanding anything contained in the Kerala Muncipailties Act, 1960 (l4 of 1961), the term of office of the councillors of the Tirur Municipality constituted under the said Act, which expires on the 1st day of December, 1978, shall extend upto the 1st day of October, 1979.

1. (1) The Tirur Municipal Council (Extension of Term of Office of Councillors) Ordinance, 1978 (29 of 1978), is hereby repealed.
2. (2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken under the said Ordinance shall be deemed to have been done or taken under this Act. ____ *Received the assent of the Governor on the 29 th March, 1979 and published in the Kerala Gazette Extraordinary No. 233 dated 29 th March, 1979.
