The Supply of Paddy and Rice to Travancore Palace (Extinguishment of Rights and Liabilities) Act, 1976

(1) This Act may be called the Supply of Paddy and Rice to Travancore Palace (Extinguishment of Rights and Liabilities) Act, 1976. (2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 20th day of April 1972.

Notwithstanding anything contained in any other law for the time being in force, or in any contract or other document, with effect on and from the commencement of this Act, all rights, liabilities and obligations in respect of the four thousand paras of paddy, one hundred and ten paras of Njavara rice and one and a half paras of Oora rice supplied annually by the Government to the Travancore Palace for use of the former Maharaja of Travancore and the Palace, in pursuance of the Order of the former Government of Travancore-Cochin No G5—18313/49/CS, dated the 12th December, 1949, shall stand extinguished, and accordingly no paddy or rice in pursuance of the said Order shall be supplied to the Travancore Palace.

Notwithstanding anything contained in any law for the time being in force, or in any contract or other document, no compensation shall be payable to the former Maharaja of Travancore or the Travancore Palace for the extinguishment by section 2, of the rights in respect of the paddy and rice mentioned in that section.
