The Cochin University of Science and Technology

This Act modifies the administrative structure and governance rules of the Cochin University of Science and Technology by altering the composition of its governing bodies. It updates representation rules for Senate members, requiring specific university professors, student representatives nominated by the government, and government-appointed higher education experts, with mandatory inclusion of women and members from Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes. It also adds the Chairperson of Kalamassery Municipality to the Senate alongside the Mayor of Cochin. The legislation specifies that government-nominated members serve at the pleasure of the government and replaces existing nominated members to align university leadership with updated state governance standards.
