Restraint on arrested persons

(1) A Poltce Officer may use appropnate restncttve measures to ensure that the person arrested by h1m does not escape from custody unlawfully and may us~ necessary force agamst such person who ts trymg to escape. (2) Handcuffs shall not be used on an arrested person unless the Pohce Officer arrestmg the person has suffic1ent ground to beheve that the arrested person shall escape from custody or mJure h1mself or others 1f not handcuffed or the Pohce Officer has not recorded such grounds m wntmg. (3) Where any person IS arrested and kept m the custody of the Pohce, he shall be pemutted to wear the dress wh1ch 1s decent and appropnate under the Circumstances and wh1ch he IS used to wear
