Penalty for wilful damage to hackney carriage

Every person using a hackney carriage who wilfully causes any damage to the same, shall be liable to a fine not exceeding twenty rupees and shall also pay to the owner such compensation for the damage as the Magistrate may direct; and such compensation shall be leviable as if it were a fine.
