The Karnataka Conferment of Ownership on Mulageni or Volamulageni Tenants Act, 2011
The Karnataka Conferment of Ownership on Mulageni or Volamulageni Tenants Act, 2011
Civil201113 sections
This Act grants legal ownership to long-term mulageni and volamulageni tenants in specific Karnataka districts, allowing them to obtain full title to their cultivated land. The legislation mandates that eligible tenants must apply to the government and pay a fee prescribed by the authority to receive ownership rights. By extinguishing the landlord's rights to these leasehold lands, except for existing mortgage interests, the law aims to ensure land security and protect agricultural laborers from the insecurity of tenancy arrangements.
