Chapter VI POWERS AND DUTIES OF MARKET COMMITTEES

A market committee may write off any amount (other than market fee) whatsoever due to it, whether under a contract or otherwise, or any amount payable in connection therewith if in its opinion such amount is irrecoverable: Provided that the market committee shall before writing off any such amount, obtain the sanction of,- (i) the Director of Agricultural Marketing, if the amount exceeds five hundred rupees but does not exceed five thousand rupees; (ii) the State Government, if the amount exceeds five thousand rupees;] 1.
