Short title, extent and commencement

(1) This Act may be called the Bihar State Housing Board Act, 1982.

(2) It extends to the whole of the state of Bihar: Provided that house-building activities of the Coal Mines Labour Housing Board under the Coal Mines Labour Welfare Funds Act, 1947 (Act 32 of 1947) and similar house-building activities of the Mica Mines and Iron Ore Mines Welfare Funds will remain outside the scope of the Housing Board.

(3) It shall come into force at once. (i) These regulations may be called the Bihar State Housing Board (Management and Disposal of Housing Estates) Regulation, 1982. (ii) these regulations shall apply to those schemes in which built up properties or housing sites are to be disposed of by sale or hire purchase. (iii) These regulations shall come into force from the date of notification in the Official Gazette.
