Duty of Medical Practitioner

Duty of Medical Practitioner.--Every medical practitioner including a Hakim or a Vaid, who, in the course, of his professional duty or otherwise, comes to know that any person is suffering from a venereal disease, shall forthwith report the name and such other particulars of such person as are within his knowledge to the medical officer within whose jurisdiction such person ordinarily resides.
