Bare Act
The Jammu and Kashmir State Evacuees, (Administration of Property), (Validation of Orders, Proceedings and Acts) Act, 1958
This is a curative piece of legislation designed to fix a procedural error in government administration. It retroactively validates specific actions taken by a government official, S. Pritam Singh, who served as a Special Revenue Officer and Settlement Officer in the Poonch district. During his tenure, he acted as an "Additional Custodian" of evacuee property without the formal government notification required by law. Because he lacked the official designation at the time, his administrative orders were technically vulnerable to legal challenges. This Act removes that risk by declaring his past actions legally valid, effectively closing the door on any lawsuits challenging his decisions during that period.
