Appointment of Secretary of Gram Panchayat

(1) There shall be a Secretary for a Gram Panchayat or a group of Gram Panchayats who shall be appointed by the Director. (2) It shall be the duty of the Secretary to assist the Pradhan or the Up-Pradhan of the Gram Panchayat, as the case may be, in the discharge of their functions under this Act or any other law for the time being in force.
