Bare Act
The Himachal Pradesh Fruit Nurseries Registration Act, 1973
This Act regulates the establishment, licensing, and operation of fruit nurseries across Himachal Pradesh. It applies to all nurserymen and businesses engaged in propagating, producing, or selling fruit plants and planting materials within the state. To maintain agricultural standards, nursery operators must register each nursery location, secure a mandatory license, maintain detailed pedigree records, propagate approved plant varieties, and keep plots free from pests and diseases. State authorities are empowered to inspect facilities, order infected plants destroyed, and restrict the transport of diseased or uncertified plants. By standardizing nursery operations, the legislation protects fruit growers from substandard stock and safeguards the state horticulture industry.
