Power to summon witnesses and take evidence.-The Trustee

Committee and the Bar Council shall, for the purpose of any enquiry under

H. P. ADVOCATES WELFARE FUND ACT, 1996 15

this Act, have the same powers as are vested in a civil court while trying a suit under the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908 (5 of 1908) in respect of the following namely :-

1. (a) enforcing the attendance of any person or examining him on oath;
2. (b) requiring the discovery and production of documents;
3. (c) receiving evidence on affidavit; and
4. (d) issuing commission for the examination of witnesses.
