Compounding of offences.

(1) Any offence made punishable up to a fine of five hundred rupees under this Act, may, either before or after the institution of the proceedings be compounded by the licensing authority or any other officer authorised by the State Government in this behalf. (2) The amount recoverable by way of composition shall not be less than twenty per centum of the maximum fine provided for such offence and the same shall be in addition to the license fee or other amount payable under this Act. (3) Where an offence has been compounded, the owner, if in custody, shall be released and no further proceedings shall be taken against him.
