This Act sets up the Gujarat Universities Services Tribunal to decide disputes about the service conditions of university employees. Employees can appeal to the Tribunal against dismissal, removal and other penalties. The Tribunal has the powers of a civil court, its decisions are final, and civil courts cannot hear these disputes.
