Bare Act

The Interest (Gujarat Extension) Act, 1961

General19613 sections

This Act extends the provisions of the Interest Act of 1839 to the entire state of Gujarat, replacing the previous limited application in the Kutch area. It repeals the 1839 Act's specific application to Kutch once this law takes effect, but it preserves all existing rights, obligations, and legal proceedings that were already in place. This ensures that the old interest law is now valid throughout Gujarat while protecting any rights or penalties that had already been established under the previous version of the law.
