Suspension of provisions of Gujarat Panchayats Act 1961

Suspension of provisions of Gujarat Panchayats Act, 1961. Notwithstanding anything contained in the Gujarat Panchayats Act, 1961 (Guj. VI of 1962),—

1. (a) all the provisions of the said Act, in so far as they relate to the constitution of a nagar panchayat or gram panchayat for any of the local areas specified in the Schedule, shall stand suspended;
2. (b) the notification issued under clause
3. (g) of section 2 of the said Act specifying any such local area as a nagar or gram, as the case may be, shall cease to have effect; and
4. (c) any nagar panchayat or gram panchayat constituted for any such local area and functioning immediately before the commencement of this Act shall stand dissolved.
