The Gujarat Evacuee Interest (Separation) Supplementary Act, 1960

Short title.—This Act may be called the Gujarat Evacuee Interest (Separation) Supplementary Act, 1960.

Validation of certain proceedings under the Evacuee Interest (Separation) Act, 1951 in the State of Gujarat.—(1) All proceedings taken, jurisdictions exercised or orders passed by any competent officer or appellate officer under the Evacuee Interest (Separation) Act, 1951 (64 of 1951), in the area which forms the State of Gujarat, before the 1st day of May, 1960, shall, notwithstanding any defect or irregularity in the appointment of such officer or in the procedure followed by him, be deemed to be, and to have always been, validly taken, exercised or passed in accordance with law.

1. (2) No such proceeding, jurisdiction or order shall be called in question in any court on the ground only that the officer by whom the proceeding was taken, jurisdiction exercised or order passed, was not duly appointed or that the procedure followed by him was defective.
