Bare Act

The Gujarat Evacuee Interest (Separation) Supplementary Act, 1960

General19602 sections

This Act validates all proceedings taken under the Evacuee Interest (Separation) Act, 1951 in Gujarat before May 1, 1960, making them legally valid despite defects in officer appointments or procedures followed. It prevents courts from challenging these proceedings solely due to lack of proper officer appointment or defective procedures. This measure ensures ongoing proceedings during Gujarat's reorganization as a state could continue without being thrown out due to administrative errors. The legislation applied to all competent officers and appellate officers in Gujarat who processed matters between dissolution of former states and creation of the new Gujarat state.
