Functions of Controller

6. The Controller appointed under this Act shall perform the following functions, namely :-

1. (a) arrange for mandatory registration of cotton seeds firms which are engaged in the trade of cotton seeds duly indicating the production aspects and areas of operation etc;
2. (b) arrange for payment of compensation to the farmers;
3. (c) advice the State Government on matters relating to regulation of sale of cotton seeds by way of compulsory DNA finger printing test or genetic purity test; and
4. (d) such other matters as assigned to him by the State Government.
